“If a buyer said to me, Your painting makes my room/sofa/carpet look good” that would be the BEST compliment – I aim to create artworks that enhance your space”

Some artists believe the opposite is true, that is, that your decor may change so it shouldn’t be your driving factor. To not consider where your painting will sit within your home or space is like buying that dress that doesn’t fit in the hope it will fit some day. If you’ve extensive space to store all those dresses then great, but most of us as are stretched for space and can’t afford to buy something that doesn’t work for us in the present moment.

My Journey

Irish abstract artist Jan O’Sullivan explains how she arrived at a rewarding career as an Abstract Artist…

Tropical Velvet – Original Abstract Painting by Jan O’Sullivan Irish Abstract Artist

I started painting to solve a problem. I wanted large original abstract art to help stage our house for sale. As I couldn’t find any affordable original Irish Art in our budget, I decided to try my hand at it, and then I was hooked on painting as a hobby.

In turn, I sold my first painting to solve another problem – my new hobby was taking up space in my home and costing me money, so I sold my original abstract paintings as a way to fund my hobby.

And in keeping with my flair for problem solving, I now paint to solve my customers problems – be it that they have a large space to define or a hole in the wall to cover up, or just something that will give cohesion to their decor.
